Developing World Must Invest in Nano Research for Water Purification to Stay Ahead

Cairo, Egypt, May, 2009 - SabryCorp’s CEO and founder Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Mottaleb stated in an article on SciDev.net that in order for developing world countries to avoid the threatening water crisis, they must invest in new solutions, such as nanotechnology. Nanotechnology already offers applications for water purification, and companies and researchers in the developing world must collaborate closely with the government to devise new solutions incorporating nanotechnology, while at the same time ensuring risk is understood.

The report answered questions regarding:

  • Lack of food security
  • Role of the UK government, academia and private industries
  • Global challenges faced in addressing global food security.
  • Dr. Mohamed emphasizes in the article that “Companies that do not invest early on in these new and advanced technologies will find themselves either out of business, or playing catch up after others have dominated the market.”
